1. Birthday countdowns:
i.e. "5 months from today I'll be 25!" or "Hey that's 6 days before my birthday!" or "10 days til my birthday!" I'm not really sure why it bothers me. I don't dislike birthdays, but I think each person should only get one day a piece.
2. Keynote speakers' pump-up-the-audience routine:
i.e. "How you all doing today?" Applause "Aw come on, I know you can do better than that, HOW YOU ALL DOING TODAY?!!??" More applause "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!!!!!" Seriously? Why should I applaud you? You haven't even started your speech.
3. "...is that bad?" or "...am I a terrible person?"
I think if you have to ask, you already know the answer. Also, stop tempting me to judge you.
4. Texting while driving
Just say no. This is serious. It's more dangerous than driving drunk. If it's that important, pull over. Your text isn't worth risking lives.
5. Hair blowing into my lip gloss
Since I live in Oklahoma, I simply can't wear lip gloss all all. Too windy!
What drives you nuts?
Yes to all of these. But my biggest pet peeves are smacking and really loud ice-crunching. I have to leave the table when people smack or talk with their mouths full. And ice-crunching...I've known some who succeed with minimal noise. Others sound like a jack hammer. Combine the two pet peeves? Shoot me.
ReplyDeletelove to brush my teeth.... but the sound of the brush against my teeth really grinds my gears. Usually I have to turn the faucet on to drown out the irritating noise.... or I try and brush 'em in the shower.

ReplyDeleteThis post was especially amusing to me. Probably since I've heard you mention every one of those, and they have since become pet peeves of mine. The "pump up the audience" thing? Kills me. But only because you pointed it out to me. Now though...it makes my skin crawl.
hahaha those are all annoying. You know mine-When parents take their baby/children to late movies, UGHHHHHHH!

ReplyDeleteI hate it when people leave doors/cabinets/ drawers open. I mean really... it takes the same exact amount of time to close it as it did to open it.
bahaha I love the keynote speaker one...so true!!! also the lipgloss one..that is the worst. I HATE when people put their feet on the back of my chair. I know it isn't that big of a deal, but I can't stand it. then they start tapping and moving...cut it out! Gahhh!
